Imran Khan condemns US drone attack

Multan : The Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan condemned the latest drone attack in North Waziristan, as a result of which numerous innocent lives were lost.
In a press statement, Imran Khan said with the latest drone attack coming in the wake of the Abbottabad operation that has shattered the sovereignty of the country, the US has clearly signaled that it would continue unilateral military action inside Pakistan’s territory. He said that the confused and conflicting statements by the rulers about the operation, which killed Osama Bin Laden, would only embolden the US to continue its reckless policy of unilateral military operations inside Pakistani territory.
Khan said time had come for the nation to take stock of the precarious security situation that Pakistan was confronted with which was a direct consequence of our total capitulation to US pressure in pursuit of its objectives in the war on terror. Events have proved that ‘the NRO government’ was manufactured to hoist a compromised leadership in power, which would be more susceptible to pressure than the previous Musharraf-led regime. As an indication, 10 drone attacks took place between 2004 and 2007, whereas, ever since the NRO government was installed in 2008, a total of 227 drone attacks have taken place resulting in the loss of hundreds of innocent Pakistanis, the PTI chairman said. Khan added that despite suffering enormous human and economic losses in the war on terror, the US still does not trust Pakistan with sensitive intelligence sharing. And, yet we have allowed the Central Investigation Agency (CIA) to build an intelligence infrastructure in Pakistan that could prove critically dangerous to our national security interests and assets. He said that the US has said that in case they have actionable intelligence on a high value target, they would take military action. Why was this strategic US policy decision that directly impairs on our security and sovereignty not deliberated in any strategic dialogue with the US, the PTI chairman questioned. PPI
