LAHORE - Association of Physicians of PakistaniDescended of Kentucky and Indiana (APPKI) USA has provided 40 waterfiltration plants to the Health Department Punjab for the floodaffected areas in view to provide clean drinking water to the peopleof effected areas.
Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad disclosed that thesewater filtration plants would be installed at 8 Rural Health Centers(RHC) of districts Sarghodha, 5 in Khoshab, 4 in Bhakkar, 4 in DG.Khan, 2 in Rajanpur, 6 in Muzaffargarh, 4 in Layyah and 5 filtrationplants would be installed in Mianwali. Moreover, one each plant also be installed in THQ HospitalChowbara, Layyah and Civil Hospital Sakhi-Sarwar, DG Khan. SecretaryHealth further said that by installing these plants, purifieddrinking water would be provided to thousands of patients visiting

Secretary Health disclosed that one day training workshop foroperating water plants would be held at Lahore on 22nd March toprovide training to the officials of the said Rural Health Centersand on the same day these plants would be handed over to them forimmediate installation in the respective RHCs.
He further said that Association of Physicians of PakistaniDescended of Kentucky and Indiana had also provided a number ofwater plants immediate after the flood, which were handed over tothe different hospitals of the effected areas.
Secretary Health thanked the APPKI for extending help to theirPakistani brethren.
