MQM Chief Altaf Hussain offers one million youth to defend country

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Quaid Altaf Hussain has offered a force of one million youth if the government and the Army stop the drone attacks in the tribal areas with ‘courage and bravery’.
He was making a live telephonic address from London on the occasion of the 27th Foundation Day of the MQM here at the Jinnah Ground on Friday. He asked the US and Western states whether the drone attacks in Pakistan were in accordance with the UN charter. He said the one-million youth force will contain Punjabi, Sindhi, Baloch, Pathan, Hazarwal, Seraikis and others to defend the country against the drone attacks.

Referring to the release of Raymond Davis whom he termed a US spy and killer of two Pakistanis, Altaf said the US should also pay Qisas and Diyat amount to the innocent citizens killed in tribal areas. He claimed had the MQM been in power, Dr Aafia would have never been put behind the bars in the US. He appealed to the US to release Dr Aafia. He also claimed had the MQM been in power, Raymond Davis would have stayed behind the bars.

Altaf invited the Taliban to “join Pakistan” as the country came into existence after great sacrifices. He urged the people to extend support to the MQM as the party followed the last sermon of Holy Prophet (PBUH) as its manifesto and pledged equal rights to all the citizens in Pakistan. He claimed that the MQM would bring a revolution in the country if the people extended their support to the party.

Altaf also supported the demand of Seraiki and Hazara provinces and demanded of the government to resolve the Balochistan issue through negotiation. A large number of people, including women and children, attended the gathering at the Jinnah Ground under tight security.
