Protest in Karachi against release of Raymond Davis

KARACHI - On the Call of Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Syed Munawar Hasan, JI Karachi chapter staged a protest rally against the release and repatriation CIA contractor Raymond Davis, who had been charged of killing two Pakistani citizens in Lahore.
Hundreds of JI activists gathered at Empress Market, Saddar and marched towards the Regal Chowk, wherethey staged a sit-in. The protestors were chanting slogans against the government.Addressing the rally, Amir JI Karachi Mohammed Hussain Mehnti said that the release of the CIA contractor, whose hands were stained with the blood of four innocent Pakistanis, was a matter of shame.

He said that the whole nation was in deep sorrow and condemned the government, who had betraying Pakistani nation. He said the government mocked the nation and misused Islamic Law (Deeyat).
He said that daughter of the nation, Dr. Aafia Siddqui, was handed sentence of 86 year over the crime that she never committed but killer of two people was freed by Pakistan in hassle-free manner. He saidthe nation was shocked on this decision.
He alleged that rulers had made the country a virtual colony of the US where the Americans are free toplay with the lives and honour of Pakistani citizens. The government has no moral ground to stay in power and should quit immediately, he added.The JI leader appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohamed Chaudhry to order inquiry against the session judge who acquitted Raymond Davis.
Leaders of JUI-F Qari Usman, Central Leader JUP Siddique Rathore and others also spoke.
Pasban Karachi Chapter also staged demonstration outside Karachi Press Club against the release of theUS national, led by President Pasban Pakistan Altaf Shakoor.
Altaf Shakoor strongly regretted the decision to release Davis and demanded release of Dr. Aafia from US jail.
