Islamabad - Terming the release of Raymond Davis as match fixing, former Pakistani cricketer and Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI), Imran Khan Thursday called for a strong stand on the issue.Addressing a news conference here at PTI central secretariat, he said that over thirty two thousand Pakistanis have been killed after 9/11 while those injured in the incidents of terrorism are numberless.
"Are Pakistanis like goats and sheep that were being killed like this", he posed a question.Imran Khan further said that he was infuriated over the Pakistani rulers and not the U.S. He added center and Punjab were involved in the match fixing of Raymond Davis's release. Lashing out at U.S, Imran Khan said it (U.S) calls itself a civilized country, adding it (U.S) should had given a chance to court to decide about the Raymond Davis case. He warned that anti-U.S sentiments among the Pakistani nation would increase after this decision."Why was no case registered against Raymond Davis for committing an act of terror under the anti-terrorism act", he posed another question. He further said, "why was no case registered against Raymond Davis for alleged espionage, a crime against the state, which carries maximum sentence?".He said that suicide attacks were increased after military operation, adding those killed in the droneattacks are called as militants. He stressed the need to constitute a commission to probe the killingsin drone attacks. He further said that no one knows what the Raymond Davis was doing in Pakistan. The weapons produced from Raymond Davis give birth to many questions, which were needed to be answered, headded. He said the release of Raymond Davis was a deal between U.S government and PML-N and PPP governments.Imran Khan said that carnage in Waziristan today is the direct result of a policy of stooges to turn Pakistan into a killing field in return to allow them in power and enjoy their looted wealth abroad. "Our country is sinking into chaos and anarchy and the release of Raymond Davis would further fuel thefires of extremism and terrorism", he added. He said that society was being divided and different sects were being fought with each other to destabilized the country. He called upon the Human Rights Organizations to raise the issue. He announced countrywide protest rallies today (Friday) against Raymond Davis. He asked all Pakistan to join the protest rallies against release of Raymond Davis in all big cities.To a question regarding payment of Diyat money, he expressed ignorance about the payment, saying he knows nothing from where this money was paid.
