Supreme Court seeks details of detention centers

Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has sought the details of all detention centers of secret agencies and adjourned hearing of case regarding 11 missing prisoners of Adiyala Jail till 9th of April. Meanwhile apex court has taken notice of abduction of two boys who visited camps established by relatives of missing persons outside the parliament and has summoned the IGP Islamabad and Attorney General on March 19.

A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, on a plea of late Mst: Rohaifa bibi, also asked counsel Tariq Asad, to go through the report submitted by KPK chief secretary and apprise it on next date of hearing what relief he wanted to seek.
As the court resumed the hearing counsel for petitioner Tariq Asad informed the court that the two boys Umar Mehmood and Wali Khan have been abducted from the missing persons camp.
Chief Justice remarked that federal government has failed to take notice of the crimes and kidnappers are acting freely to achieve their targets. On this, counsel for intelligence agencies, Raja Irshad said that agencies have no link with this incident of kidnapping the boys, adding that foreign agencies are using local elements for the cause. 
Chief justice directed the IG Islamabad to submit the report regarding the abduction of two boys till today (Saturday) in registrar office and directed the IG and Attorney General to appear before the court on March 19.
During the course of hearing chief secretary KPK presented report about health of seven prisoners under treatment at Leady Reading Hospital and SC permitted to shift four prisoners nearby detention centre while directed to continue treatment of three prisoners.
The Chief Justice told him that now the missing prisoners had been traced out and given under the custody of provincial government KPK under the Actions (in Aid of Civil Power) Regulations, 2011, so the petitioner, should apprise the Court what further relief they wanted.
The attorney for one of the detainees Hafiz Majid informed the court his client was suffering from cancer.
ISI attorney said intelligence agencies act under the army act. The CJP remarked the agencies were not above the Constitution. He asked where those prisoners were being kept as four prisoners have already died and the court would not remain silent on the issue.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry asked the intelligence agencies that under which law the missing persons have been detained. 
“We respect the military but all matters should be dealt within jurisdiction of the law,” the chief justice said in his remarks during the missing person’s case in Supreme Court.
The counsel of ISI said the agency didn’t commit any illegal act. Than under which law these persons were detained, asked the Chief Justice. Which agency was investigating the matter, the CJP asked and directed the counsel to submit all relevant documents of the matter in the court. SANA
