Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that no pressure on Pak-Iran gas pipeline
project would be accepted, adding ups and downs are routine matter in
relations with US as sometimes these are good and sometimes these are
not good.
He said that no compromise would be made on national interests,
adding there will be no care taker and chair taker government in country
and PM will not go anywhere.
Talking to the media persons in Multan after inaugurating the Air
University Campus, he said the government will fulfill the aspirations
of the people of Seraiki region by carving out a new province for them.
He said certain elements are trying different tactics to divert the
attention of the public from this issue but they will stand failed in
their attempts.
Prime Minister Gilani reiterated support for the creation of Seraiki
province saying the government will introduce a constitutional amendment
for the creation of the province. He said that the demands of
Bahawalpur, Hazara and Thal provinces are aimed at sabotaging the
Seraiki province demand.
Responding to a question, Prime Minister Gilani said the government has fulfilled its promise by holding the Senate elections on time. He said now the government will present its fifth financial budget and after that negotiations will be held with all the coalition partners and other political parties for the holding of next general elections.
About increase in prices of petroleum products, he said these have been made keeping in view the surge in the international market.

Rejecting US pressure on Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, Prime
Minister Gilani said Pakistan is a sovereign country and has bilateral
relations with different countries including Iran. He said we will work
in the best national interest and not come under any foreign pressure on
the gas pipeline project.
Earlier addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Syed
Yusuf Raza Gilani has said the government is making all out efforts to
increase the literacy rate in the country.
He said the education stands a provincial subject after the passage
of the 18th amendment but the federal government will continue to assist
the federating units for the promotion of quality education.
He said Information Technology centers will be set up in every union
council of the country which will not only provide job opportunties to
the locals but also provide connectivity to the people living in the far
flung areas.
He said it has been his firmer desire and consistent endeavor to
address the grieavances of southern Punjab and the opening of this
Multan campus of Air University is a major step in that direction and in
accordance with his vision of enhancement of quality education.
Highlighting the role played by his forefathers for promotion of
education, Prime Minister Gilani emphasized that those equipped with
knowledge should understand their role towards the socio economic of the
society. He believed that by increasing the social capital that we can
move and earn a respectable place in the comity of nations. He said the
role that some of institutions of higher education centers are playing
to meet these standards is commendable. SANA
