Aftab Sherpao escapes blast; one killed, six injured in Charsadda

One police cop was killed and six others injured in the result of the suicide attack on PPP Sherpoa Chief Aftaba Sherpao in Sahhbaqadar area of Charsadda, when he was returning back after addressing public gathering; meanwhile Aftab Sherpao and his son Sikandar Sherpao remained safe in the attack. 

The injured persons have been shifted in leady reading hospital of Peshawar. MPA Muhammed Ali is  among the injured persons. 
The suicide bomber blew him up near the vehicle of Sherpao’s son at a time when Khan was making his way out after a political gathering held in Shabqadar under the aegis of Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao (PPP-Sherpao). 
Police officer Nisar Khan says former interior minister Aftab Khan Sherpao was not injured in Saturday’s attack.
Sherpao was passing through the district of Charsadda when the attacker blew himself up near his vehicle.
Sherpao supervised operations against the Pakistani Taliban during the tenure of former President Parvez Musharraf. The Taliban vowed to kill him, and he has been the target of at least two bomb attacks in recent years.
According to the officials of the bomb disposal squad the head and legs of the suicide bomber have been taken into custody by the bomb disposal squad; meanwhile five to six KG explosive material was
DPO Nisar Ali Marwat said that the age of the suicide bomber was 22 years.
Meanwhile the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Mohmand Agency spokesman has claimed the responsibility of the attack on Aftab Sherpao. SANA
