Military ruler held LB elections why not democratic govt: CJP

Supreme Court of Pakistan while hearing Balochistan target killing case, has summoned reports from Balochistan government regarding missing person and steps taken to control law and order situation; meanwhile apex court rejecting report of Sindh police has directed IGP Sindh to file report about killing of wife of Bakhtyar Domki till April 03.

The Supreme Court expressed its concerns over prevailing law and order situation in Balochistan and sought details from security agencies for in-camera review of agencies report.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Ahmed Bakhash Lehri, IGP Balochistan Rao Muhammad Ameen Hashim and additional IG Sindh Shabbir Ahmed Sheikh appeared before the court and submitted their report however advocate General Balochistan presented the reports of secret agencies.
Three-member SC bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the petition of Balochistan High Court Bar Association on Thursday.
Meanwhile the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has remarked that there is worst situation of law and order in the country including Balochistan and it is due to the unavailability of the local bodies system, adding that if a military ruler can arrange the local bodied election than why not a democratic government doing so.
Apex court ordered, IG Balochistan to submit a detailed report on target-killings and kidnapping for ransom incidents in the province during the last three years.
During course of the hearing, the secret agencies ISI, IB and MI submitted their confidential reports regarding the situation of the Balochistan and the CJP directed ISI, IB and MI authorities to indicate the points on which they would brief the court in an in-camera hearing.
The CJP ordered IG Balochistan to get released Advocate Hamza Shehwani before the next hearing, and directed the agencies to prepare details to Balochistan’s missing persons.
CJP said in his remarks that the Chief Secretary (CS) is responsible for the law and order in Balochistan. CJ directed CS to give a plan on it which court would send to the government. The court is not helpless, it can issue orders,” the CJP said.
Chief Justice said that the education system of the Balochistan has been close due to worsening situation, adding that how would run the system of the country when children would be deprived of the education?
CJP said that the lawyers, civilians and security personal are being killed and police has failed to control the situation and kidnapping for ransom is more common in the urban areas of the Balochistan.
Chief Secretary Lehri said that provincial government is taking steps to meet the challenges, adding that provincial assembly has passed local bodies act and would hold election immediate after the completion of the fresh voter lists.
Chief Justice remarked that local bodies system would be morew help full to meet the challenges, adding that restoration of the law and order situation is the duty of executive instead of MPA’s and MNA’s.
Chief Justice remarked that provincial government has to meet the root cause of the violence in the area, adding that now dead bodies of security personals have been recovered.
Chief Justice said that court would hear the case in Quetta on next date of hearing, adding that secret agencies may inform court in-camera about the reasons of target killing.
Later the additional IG Sindh police submitting the report regarding killing of wife of a Baloch leader Bakhtyar Domki said that the report is confidential.
The court reviewing the report, showed annoyance over police official and observed that the report is unsatisfactory and keep such reports with them
Court directed IG Sindh to take personal interest in the case and take necessary steps to arrest the culprits of the incident. Court directed IG to submit detailed report on next date of hearing. SANA
