Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said cops having shoulder promotion should be reverted in Sindh police.
A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad
Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Husain and Justice Tariq Parvez resumed
hearing of the case initiated on the application of Anita Turab, a
government official.
Police officer Hyder Jamal said that legal action was being taken against police officers present on the occasion when Wahida Shah misbehaved a professor who was rendering her services on a polling station.
He also said that the DSP, present on the occasion, had been given shoulder promotion.
He said that department is taking action against undeserving cops who are enjoying promotion without meeting the criteria.
He said that transparent system is indispensable for keeping law and order in its real sense, adding that the only transparent system may guarantee rule of law.
While passing his comments, the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that only deserving police officers should be promoted; that is only way of fair play and justice.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry directed the ECP and trial court to take action without being influenced by the Supreme Court.
The bench, during the last hearing, took serious notice of the
applicant’s arguments that civil servants were being pushed to the wall
by every succeeding government and were treated as personal servants of
the influential people in the government.
The bench had clarified that the civil servants had to obey legal
orders only as servants of the state and not of any particular
government.
Waheeda Shah has already been declared guilty of election rules’
violations and disqualified for two years by the Election Commission of
Pakistan (ECP) last week.
The ECP has also ordered fresh polls in the Tando Muhammad Khan constituency. SANA
