President, PM ask people to reject sectarianism, terrorism

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani have urged the people to reject sectarianism and terrorism and follow the teaching of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

In their messages of the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) being celebrated on Sunday, they said that there is no space for terrorism, militancy or extremism in Islam and those involved in such activities cannot even claim to be Muslims.
The President asked the people to adopt the teachings of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to improve their lives and for the betterment of Muslim Ummah.
The President congratulated Muslims on the auspicious birthday of benefactor of humanity and the last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
The day of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) is spent with respect and happiness, he said. The President said, "The day attracts us to continue to make efforts to brighten our days and nights in the light of teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)."
On this day, he said, with the arrival of benefactor of humanity Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), not only spring came to the land of Arabs but also to the world.
He said the effort of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) created such a revolution that it changed the lives of people and the auspicious personality of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) united Muslim Ummah and weaved it into a thread.
He said this was compassion of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) that those people who went astray and fell into an abyss, came out of it as a strong power.
He said, "the reality is that in today’s world the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are needed more than ever and as the adherents of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) it was our responsibility that we should improve our lives by following good deeds of our Prophet (PBUH) and make it an example for the rest of the world."
"We should make our name in deeds of welfare and charity by keeping in view the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)," he added.
The President said, "We should refrain from every action that is unacceptable for anybody’s life, property, dignity, honour and highest human values because it is foundation of religion and is central idea of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)."
He said, "Let us make a pledge on this day that we will bring to this world the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by displaying them in our practical lives."
He said, "It is our prayer to Allah Almighty that He give us the determination to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and give us the courage to stay true to our faith."
Prime Minister in his message said today the Muslims around the world including Pakistan are celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) with religious zeal.
He said it is a sacred day for the Muslims and the entire humanity. He said the day marks the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), who is the last Prophet and the source of guidance to the mankind.
The Prime Minister said, "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought with him the Holy Quran and Islam, which would continue to serve as a beacon of light for the human beings till the Day of Judgment."
He said the Holy Quran says: "And, (O Esteemed Messenger,) We have not sent you but as a mercy for all the worlds."
The Prime Minister said, "On the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), I would like to congratulate the entire Muslim community, including the people of Pakistan living within the country as well as abroad."
Gilani said with the arrival of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the clouds of infidelity got evaporated and the message of peace, love and equality became eternal.
"He (PBUH) purged the Muslims of darkness of sin and integrated them into a relationship of brotherhood andone nation," said the Prime Minister.
He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought about a social and spiritual revolution in the world and hence changed the course of human history and declared: "The Muslim is the one from whose hands and tongue other Muslims remain safe."
He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) urged his followers to imbibe the values of love, peace, tolerance and compassion and told the world that Islam is a universal religion of peace, which guarantees human dignity, brotherhood and welfare without any discrimination.
The Prime Minister said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) advised the people to demonstrate sympathy, love and affection and be kind to one another in their dealings and interactions.
The way Islam spread across continents within a short span of time was unbelievable that demonstrates the power of persuasion of the Islamic teachings, he added.
Gilani said Islam, a universal religion, guides the humanity to the path of peace, security and welfare.
He said the literal meaning of Islam is peace and total submission to the will of God.
He said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a perfect and practical interpretation of the Holy Quran and it is for this reason that Allah Almighty endowed the title of ’Mercy for all the worlds’ on the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Prime Minister said Islam presents such an excellent code of life as founded on the lofty principles of Sovereignty of Allah Almighty, brotherhood, equality and respect for humanity.
"Islam is firmly opposed to nepotism, sectarianism, oppression and coercion and fully rejects exploitation of every kind," he added.
The Prime Minister said Islam does not allow anyone to spread violence and strife on the face of earth and forbids people to kill others.
He said the essence of Islamic teachings is that a man should respect other human beings irrespective of any discrimination of caste, cellar, creed or race.
Gilani said Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: "Whoever killed a person (unjustly), except as a punishment for murder or for (spreading) disorder in the land, it would be as if he killed all the people (of society); and whoever (saved him from unjust murder and) made him survive, it would be as if he saved the lives of all the people (of society, i.e., he rescued the collective system of human life)."
The Prime Minister said, "We can make the world a hub of peace by acting upon the teachings of Islam."
He said since Islam preaches peace and love, therefore, those, who enter its fold, become the embodiment of the same. The Prime Minister said there is a dire need to resort to splendid traditions and teachings of Islam in the contemporary world to make it respond to emerging challenges in a proactive manner.
He said the entire life of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is a beacon of light and worthy of emulation by man of every age.
Gilani said the personality of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was characterized by such attributes as sympathy for others, generosity, bravery, mercifulness and hospitality.
He said even his worst enemies testified to these attributes of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Public welfare, peace and security, mutual brotherhood, moderation and tolerance are the salient features of the blessed life of the Prophet (PBUH).
The Prime Minister said, "Let us pledge to act upon the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and prove to the world that the Muslims are the torch-bearers of peace in the world. Let us vow to spread his message in a world, which is torn apart by strife and violence." Online
