ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan,
Friday, challenged the 25th February by-polls in the Supreme court of
Pakistan.
A writ petition was launched in the supreme court of
Pakistan by Imran Khan`s advocate and PTI`s senior vice president Hamid
Khan in this regard. In the writ petition Hamid Khan Advocate said that
the voter lists are bogus and if the election was held in such a
situation it would be unconstitutional.
The petitioner said that
the Supreme Court had already agreed that the present voter lists
comprise of more than 30 million bogus votes. Adding that an election on
the basis of this voter list would be unlawful and unconstitutional
The petitioner requested the Supreme Court to stop the by-polls on 25th February.
The election commission of Pakistan has been made a party in the petition.
It
is to be mentioned here that the supreme court of Pakistan had ordered
the election commission of Pakistan to stop the by-polls on bogus voter
lists in an order issued on 19th January. Online
