Boiler blast in Medicine Company in Lahore claim 9 lives

At least nine persons were killed, many injured and over 50 trapped under the debris of a three storey medicine company situated at Hassan Town on Multan Road in Lahore here on Monday.

Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an immediate investigation into the factory collapse and has vowed to award exemplary punishment to the responsible of the negligence. He regretted over the incident and ordered to give best of the medical facilities to the injured persons.
Shahbaz Sharif while speaking to reporters said the investigation will look into how the factory collapsed and further action will be taken after a report is submitted. 
Rescue workers had managed to rescue 19 people, including 10 women, three children and four men from under the rubble
17 women and 45 men were at work when the factory crumbled in Lahore. 
According to the sources there were four boilers in the factory and after the blast in one boiler three remaining boilers were also exploded.
According to sources the owners of the factory Sheikh Zaffar and Sheikh Mazhar managed to flee from their residence after the blast in factory.
Karamat Ali, a spokesman for the government Rescue 1122 emergency service, said three dead, including a 10-year-old boy, and 13 survivors had been pulled out of the rubble; meanwhile eight persons were shifted in Jinnah Hospital.

He said 17 women and 45 men were at work when the factory, which produced veterinary medical products, crumbled. The death toll was expected to rise.
In an interview with a private TV channel provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah khan said that nothing could be achieved through point scoring, adding that the action would be taken against the responsible of the incident.
He said that the incident is regrettable, adding that Raja Riaz Ahmed has nothing to do except leveling allegations, adding that factory was working from last 25 years.

“The factory was supposed to be sealed. We will investigate why it was still running,” city official Ahad Cheema told reporters. It was not clear why it had been ordered sealed.

“We are looking for voids in the destruction where there are likely to be survivors,” Rizwan Naseer, head of Rescue 1122, told reporters at the site.
Meanwhile police have registered an FIR against factory owners and factory manager Muneer has been arrested and investigations are underway from him. SANA
