Case can not be registered against Mansoor Ijaz: Memo Commission


The high power Judicial Commission constituted for probe into Memogate scandal had ordered that treason case can not registered against Mansoor Ijaz main character of Memo scandal, adding that applications against Mansoor are efforts to prevent him to arrive Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the counsel for Mansoor has assured that his client would not leave the country till completion of the arguments on the issue, however he said that the arrival and departure of Mansoor should not be announced.
In response to that Attorney General for Pakistan has assured that the arrival and departure of Mansoor would be kept secret.
Mian character of Memo Case Mansoor Ijaz has sorted more time till 25 Jan to appear before the Memo commission and Hussain Haqqani denied providing the data of his blackberry.
Three –member judicial commission conducted its hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday. Akram Sheikh Counsel for Mansoor Ijaz read the application sent by Mansoor Ijaz on Jan 12, in which he stated that his family members are being threatened after the last hearing of the commission and there is fear that he will be arrested if he would come to Pakistan.
Head of the commission justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that Attorney General Maulvi Anwar-ul-Haq has assured that no FIR would be registered against Mansoor and AG’s statement is the part of record in this regard.
Akram Sheikh said that Mansoor Ijaz id no reluctant and he is ready to come to Pakistan, adding that he wants to appear before the commission on Jan 25. He said court ordered to provide security on 9th Jan but after that the head of the department responsible to provide Security (Defence Secretary) has been removed, adding that Mansoor is being threatened to register FIR against him under article 6, therefore he is reluctant to come to Pakistan.
On question of the Commission Akarm Sheikh replied that Mansoor Ijaz will apply for visa in Pakistani embassy at Switzerland today (on Monday). Commission asked Akram Sheikh that tell clearly that Mansoor Ijaz would come to Pakistan or not adding that there is clear contradiction in the statements of Mansoor Ijaz he should speak clearly.
Zahid Bukhari counsel of Hussain Haqqani Said Mansoor Ijaz had not applied for the data of blackberry, adding that instead of taking steps in hurry Commission should respect the international laws. He said that Hussain Haqqani will not give the record of his Blackberry and he would not withdraw his right adding that commission may tell that law under which Haqqani withdraw from his right.
Attorney General Maulvi Anwar-ul-Haq informed the commission Blackberry company has denied to provide the data of Hussain Haqqani’s phone adding that he sent an application to the company through Pakistani counsel General present in Toronto, AG also read the response of the company before the commission.
In his reply the company said that according to the RIM privacy laws they cannot give the data of Blackberry to any other person, only data can be given to the concerned consumer adding that their legal team is examining the application of council general of Pakistan.
Attorney General said that Blackberry of Hussain Haqqani is not founded in his house and embassy in USA.
Justice Qazi Faiz Essa said what do you meant by this, have both phone sets stolen by some one present in embassy. Commission directed Attorney General to inquire Haqqani about those blackberry sets. Later Commission adjourned the further hearing till Jan 24. SANA
