At least two policemen were martyred and three including a passerby hurt on Monday evening in rocket attacks at the Main Bazaar of Kohat..
According to initial reports, some unknown attackers fired two
rockets at the Main Bazaar in Kohat, leaving four policemen and one
civilian passerby injured.
The rescue teams rushed to the attack site and moved the injured to
hospital while heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene and
cordoned off the area. Later on, two policemen succumbed to injuries in
the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Owing to the Muharram processions, the security was at high alert and
the authorities made stern security arrangements to avoid any mishap
but despite beefed up security arrangements the miscreants managed to
launch this attack. Meanwhile the police have started the searching of
the unknown attackers by cordoning off the nearby area of the police
