The Senate on Friday unanimously passed a resolution strongly denouncing the NATO attack on Salala military check posts in Mohmand Agency.
The resolution moved by leader of the Opposition Maulana Abdul
Ghafoor Haideri said described the NATO aggression as an attack on the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan. The NATO and US aggression is contrary to the international law and the UN mandate and will not be tolerated. It noted it was not the first aerial attack but the NATO
and US forces have consistently been attacking Pakistan’s check posts which is unacceptable.

Meanwhile the Senate was informed on Friday that a plan has been
chalked out to double revenues of Pakistan International Airlines in
five years. Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar told the house
in a written reply that the plan envisages replacement and expansion of
the PIA fleet to provide better traveling facilities to the passengers.
He said emphasis has been laid on cutting unnecessary costs of the
national flag carrier that will result in savings of 14.22 billion rupees.

has been prepared to repair one hundred and forty Diesel-electric and
D.E. locomotives. One hundred other locomotives will be repaired through public private partnership.
The minister said upgradation and rehabilitation of four hundred
passenger coaches is under going in carriage factory Islamabad with
cost of 3434 million rupees. Out of these, two hundred and sixty have
been rehabilitated so far. He said PC-1 for re-commissioning of five
hundred stabled passenger coaches have been sent for approval to the
planning commission.

operate during the last three years due to operational resource
constraints.

the entire nation and the political parties offer unconditional support to the government on the issues of national interests and solidarity.

On the memo issue, the leader of the opposition said those involved in it should be brought to justice.
