Parliamentary Committee decides to summon Mansoor, Haqqani & ISI Chief Pasha

The Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) has prepared initial draft for the review of policy of cooperation with US and its allies, included the suggestion of Defence Ministry.

The committee has decided to summon DG ISI Lieutenant General Shuja Pasha, former Pakistani ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz in its next meeting.
The meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security was held in Parliament House under the supervision of Chairman Committee Senator Mian Raza Rabbani.
According to sources, the Secretary Defence lieutenant general (retd) Khalid Naeem Lodhi handed over more record of cooperation with US and its allies to the committee, while the committee was informed about the suggestions regarding cooperation with allied forces in future given by Defence Ministry and its subordinate institution.
The committee had given suggestion to impose checking duty and charges for using roads in case of restoration of NATO supply to Afghanistan.
Talking to media after the meeting Senator Raza Rabbani said that the committee secretariat has distributed the draft of suggestion for review cooperation policy with US among the members of the committee, adding that the next meeting of the committee would be held on 3rd January and the suggestions of the committee members would be reviewed in that meeting.
He said that the Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry would be consulted while finalizing the draft and then this draft would be hand over to Prime Minister, adding that the Prime Minister will summon joint session of Parliament for debate over the draft.
He said it is the right of parliament to decide about the suggestion of draft, adding that the committee agreed to summon DG ISI, Hussain Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz in its meeting and the meeting regarding this purpose would be held till 10th January.
He said the investigation report into memo case would be made public after the approval of committee, while replying to a question he said Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was not appeared before the committee, adding that the officials of Finance Ministry will ready for briefing after 31 December.
Sources said that some of the members suggested to quit the cooperation with US forces completely and withdrawal from the war on terror. SANA
