Senate passes criminal law amendment bill unanimously

The senate has unanimously passed two bills including the Criminal Law Amendment Bill, 2011’ and the National Database and Registration Authority Amendment) Bill, 2010 on Friday.

According to the criminal law bill the accused of attacks on gas and oil pipe lines would have to face 14 years imprisonment sentence and they have to pay 10 million rupees as penalty. The different kinds of sentences have been proposed for theft of gas in houses and factories.
The Senate resumed its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Farooq H. Naek.
The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2011’ moved by Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim Hussain further amends the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 and the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898.
The National Database and Registration Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2010 moved by Leader of the House, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari amends the National Database and Registration Authority, 2000. SANA
