Turkish govt accepts Pak assistance for earthquake affected

The Turkish Government has accepted the offer of assistance from the Government of Pakistan for the relief and rescue operations in the earthquake affected areas. The offer of assistance was extended by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to his Turkish Counterpart.


On the direction of the Prime Minister, the Chairman ERRA met the Turkish Ambassador in Islamabad in which the formal acceptance was conveyed.

Pakistan would provide winterized tents and prefabricated houses for the earthquake affected people in Turkey.

The Prime Minister also directed the ERRA to provide its technical support to the Turkish government in the reconstruction and rehabilitation process keeping in view its experience in managing post large scale earthquake seismic resistant reconstruction and rehabilitation through various initiatives. SANA
