As the Punjab government struggles to battle the spread of the dengue
epidemic, the deadly virus has claimed six more lives in Lahore on
Sunday.

At least 235 people have died of the dengue virus in Punjab, out of which 218 are from Lahore.
In the last 24 hours, 371 new cases of dengue have been reported in
Lahore, while over 1,300 patients are being treated at various
hospitals.
The number of patients affected from dengue in Punjab has crossed 17164 with over 14,790 from the provincial capital.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif while
talking to media said that more than 150 doctors and nurses will be sent
to Sri Lanka and Singapore for a training course of 18 days, adding
that the training is also being given to the staff of private hospitals
as well.
He said emergency steps were being taken to counter dengue virus,
adding that machinery and medicines has been imported from Germany and
other countries. SANA
