United States Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter assured full support of the US Government for Privatization Program in terms of mobilizing US investors and extended technical support to the Government of Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Privatization, Ghous Bux Khan Mehar briefed US envoy about the Privatization Program of Pakistan and highlighted the potential investment opportunities for international investors in multiple sectors including financial services, Oil & Gas and Power Sector here in a meeting on Wednesday. Ambassador had a meeting with Chaudhry Shaujat Hussain, senior leaders
of PML(Q), President PML-Q Sindh Province and Federal Minister for
Privatization Ghous Bux Khan Maher, Minister of State for
Privatization, Rana Asif Tauseef and Federal Minister, Anwar Ali

Various issues were discussed relating the privatization program as a means to reform the State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) by bringing private sector managerial talent and capital resources.
Ghous Bux urged the US Ambassador to mobilize US based investors for participation in the upcoming privatization transactions.
Crocker showed keen interest in Privatization Program and appreciated the commitment of the Government of Pakistan despite facing present multiple challenges, i-e domestic security situation and global financial environment.
Both sides agreed to remain engaged on several economic sector issues including privatization program in order to further strengthened the bilateral relations between the two countries. APP
