Muzaffarabad : Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that the
foundation of Pakistan Peoples Party was laid down to resolve the Kashmir issue
and it will continue diplomatic and moral support of the Kashmiri people.
He was addressing to the workers’ convention of PPP AJK at Muzaffarabad here
on Saturday. He said that PPP came into power with the public support in
Pakistan as it never came to power through back doors in the history but always
reached to treasury benches with the public support.
If the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir would also vote for it in upcoming
elections , then the party would accomplish a lot of developmental projects
including healthcare, education and communication facilities here. There will be
no cut in the budget of AJK despite of prevailing financial crunch .
“Pakistan wants to work with international powers on equivalent basis in the
war against terrorism as she has rendered more sacrifices than any country in
NATO. The brave soldiers of army as well as police wrote a new chapter of
sacrifices with their blood”, PM added.
He said that PPP is a democratic party and it respects the mandate in Punjab.
It has not any scheme on cards to topple the provincial government there.
Prime Minister said that the founding father of PPP , Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto
raised the slogan to fight for one thousand years for the independence of
Kashmir and the party is still standing fast on this stance . “ We pay tribute
to those who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Kashmir. Their
ultimate destination of independence is very near ”, he added.
He ensured the workers that elections in AJK would be held in free fair and
transparent manner and any kind of interference from federal government would
not be made at any level. He hoped the PPP AJK would emerge victorious in these
polls and realize its all pledges to bring AJK into main stream through
development. He urged the workers to forget their internal differences within
party and consolidate party position in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to win the
elections.
He said that Peopels Party is the largest party of the country as besides
federation it is the part and parcel of the government in Sindh, Baluchistan and
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The party is striving for to reinforce the system and
strengthen the institution in the country.
On the occasion Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmed Watoo
said that the large participation of workers in the convention that the people
of Kashmir have given their verdict in favour of Peoples Party
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Shah , President PPP AJK
Chaudhary Abdul Majeed , former Prime Ministers of AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood
Chaudhary, Sardar Yaqoob Ahmed , leaders of the party Chaudhary Yaseen, Latif
Akbar, Matloob Inqalabi and others were also present on the occasion. Online
