India's Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday handed over eight Pakistani prisoners to the Pakistani Rangers at the Wagah-Attari joint check post after completing transfer formalities related to their jail terms in India.
The Pakistani nationals were arrested for crossing into India illegally. They were lodged in jails in Amritsar, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Before leaving for Pakistan, the prisoners appealed to the governments of both countries to expedite the verification process and release all prisoners at the earliest, especially those who had completed their jail terms. ANI
