Attack part of wider plot: Nawaz Sharif

The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that the attackers of the PNS Mehran Base in Karachi are trying to destroy Pakistan.
“Our government, however, continues to sleep over grave issues and pursuing personal priorities at the cost of vital national  interests”, Sharif said while addressing party workers in Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.
Sharif said that the attack on the naval base was not an ordinary act of terrorism but in fact was part of a deeper plot to shake the roots of Pakistan.
He said that in order to save Pakistan from such incidents, he had proposed the Misaq-e-Pakistan (Pakistan Covenant) as a political accord to which everyone had shown a non-serious attitude.
The PML-N chief said that incidents such as these would leave Pakistan completely isolated from the rest of the world.
While paying tribute to the security personnel who lost their lives in the assault, Sharif called for an immediate investigation of the attack.
Sharif said that anti-Pakistan forces were behind Karachi attack. He said he would not remain silent on such incidents. Karachi attack should open our eyes. Khaleej Times
