KARACHI,- Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Saturday demanded firm and foolproof steps to stop electrical frauds in future polls, so that a true democracy returns to Pakistan.
Deputy General Secretary JI Pakistan Mian Maqsood Ahmed said that efforts of Election Commission (EC) and NADRA in compiling voters’ lists would reduce chances of massive rigging in upcoming polls.He expressed this while addressing office-bearers of the JI Sindh at provincial office, here on Saturday.He said there were complaints about massive bogus votes in last polls, which created a bogus mandate. He said present burning issues including poverty, joblessness, price hike, load shedding and drone attacks were due to this bogus mandate.He said that it is mandatory to introduce a transparent electoral process for the election of a genuine and competent leadership in country to overcome the persisting crises.
