KARACHI: Targeted killings continued in the city unabated as five more people were killed including a KESC official in separate incidents in the provincial capital on Tuesday.
According to police, unknown gunmen showered the car of Deputy General Manager of KESC Syed Imran Jaffery with bullets in North Nazimabad area, killing him on the spot. He was on his way to office when the attackers on a motorbike ambushed his car near Saifee College. The culprits managed to escape after the incident.
In another incident of violence in Alfalah Colony, two armed men on a motorbike entered into an office of KESC and opened indiscriminate fire, killing the utility's driver Amanullah and seriously injuring lineman Nasir Abbas. The body and injured were rushed to a private hospital located at Stadium Road.
A man was gunned down in Jahangirabad area of Nazimabad while three workers of Pakistan People's Party were shot at and injured in Nazimabad No 1. Body of a man, identified as Naseer, who used to fix punctured tyres, was found from Surjani Town. He was murdered after being kidnapped and tortured.
Another man, Shiraz Baloch, who was abducted from Bihar Colony of Lyari area was dumped in Gul Mohammad Line in critical condition. He was shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
Two men were also injured in separate incidents of firing in Sohrab Goth and Pak Colony. Online
