Violence claim 17 more lives in Karachi


At least 17 people have been killed in different incidents of violence here in Karachi on Friday.

According to details, some unidentified armed persons opened fire and killed a man named Shahbaz in Ferozabad area. Another dead body was found from the same locality. Police said the deceased were workers of different political parties. In Baldia Ittehad Town, some unidentified persons opened fire on a police mobile and shot two cops.

In another incident of violence, 28-year-old Nauroz Khan was shot dead Mochoko area while some unidentified persons shot dead 26-year-old Adnan who was sitting out side a shop in BR Society area of Taimoriya.

In yet another incident of target killing, a man named Tahir was shot dead in Mominabad area of Orangi Town. In Kalakot area, some unidentified persons shot dead a man named Jan Murad and injured Sufyan. An unidentified man was shot dead on Mirza Adam Khan Road in Lyari.

Meanwhile, police have recovered a dead body from Brigade area. The dead person was identified as Shafeeq. Police said Shafeeq was an activist of a political party.

In Nauman Colony area of Sohrab Goth, an unidentified man fell victim to target killing while police have recovered a dead body from Timber Market in Liaquatabad. The dead body of eight years old girl packed in bag was recovered from Gulshine-e-Iqbal area of the city. One person was killed in the result of the firing of the unknown persons in Gulbai area of the city. Four persons were killed and one injured in the result of the firing of unknown gunmen in a house in Landhi Mansehra Colony; meanwhile the dead bodies and injured person were shifted in Jinnah Hospital. On the other hand one person was killed in the result of the firing of the unknown gunmen in Shah Faisal Colony of the city.
It is worth mentioning here that IG Sindh Police Syed Mushtaq Shah while talking to media said that 18 persons have been killed in 24 hours in the city, adding that the most of the incidents are related to personal feuds. SANA
