Miranshah: At least 10 people were killed in drone attack in Darai Nishtar area of North Waziristan, sources said on Saturday.
The sources said that the CIA unmanned aircraft fired two missiles at a house in Darai Nishtar locality of Shawal in North Waziristan, killing 10 people and injuring 27 others. According to the sources panic gripped the area as five drones are still flying in the area. The sources said that the death toll may rise as many of the injured are stated to be in critical condition. “The rescuers were facing difficulties to reach the spot as more drones were flying in the area,” sources added This attack took place a day after when President Asif Ali Zardari had told the US Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Marc Grossman on Friday that drone attacks inside Pakistan are useless and counterproductive.
Prior to this, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Kharhad also told Grossmnan that the US was not listening to Pakistani demands of halt in US drone attacks. Online
