US Congress on Balochistan violation of Pak’s sovereignty: PM Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has condemned introduction of resolution in US Congress on Balochistan saying it amounts to violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, adding that the matters relating to Dr. Shakeel Afridi will be dealt with according the laws of the land.

This he said while talking to media persons at the Karachi Port Trust here on Saturday.
Answering a question, he said Pakistan has stopped NATO supplies, got vacated Shamsi airbase and boycotted the Bonn Conference keeping in view the national interest.
To a question, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said Pakistan wants to maintain good relations with all its neighbours including China, Afghanistan, Iran and India. He said good neighbourly relations are imperative for peace and stability in the region.
Replying to a question, he said gas pipeline project will be implemented to import gas from Iran.
Replying to another question, he said oil prices is linked to the prices of the commodity at the international level. He said global economic recession have impacted the whole. He said Speaking National Assembly has formed a committee which will review and decide about the recent raise in the petroleum products. Iran pipeline must, US shouldn’t meddle in Balochistan, adding that Pak-Iran and Balochistan gas pipeline project would go ahead and would be completed.
He also said there is no need of anyone to worry over restoration of supplies for Nato troops in Afghanistan.
Gilani also defended Pakistan’s absence from the Bonn conference on Afghanistan and said the decision was taken in the national interest. SANA
