Mansoor spills his 10-year-old ‘cordial relations’ with Pakistani officials

ISLAMABAD: The central figure of Memogate, Mansoor Ejaz has disclosed that he enjoyed cordial relations with Pakistani officials for past 10 years.

In his statement relayed to Memogate Commission headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice, Qazi Fayez Essa, via direct video link from London, Mansoor Ejaz disclosed that he had earlier met serving DG-ISI, Gen Ahsan-ul-Haq during 2003 in Brussels, former President Pervez Musharraf in London, during 2005 or 2006, followed by President Asif Ali Zardari.
He said that he had proofs of these meetings, which had eventually thinned down.
Earlier, when Mansoor Ejaz began recording his statement, the Commission questioned him about his ability to communicate in Urdu, about which Mansoor Ejaz regretted.
“Whatever I am speaking is truth, and may God Almighty blight me if I lie,” he avowed.
The Commission, then asked his name and address over which Mansoor responded as Mansoor Ejaz, son of Mujaddid Ahmad Ejaz , and a resident of Virginia , Massachusetts (USA), after which Mansoor Ejaz was directed to start recording his statement in light of his earlier 29-page written statement.
Hussain Haqqani’s counsel, Zahid Hussain Bukhari objected over Mansoor Ejaz’s written form of statement and demanded that Mansoor should be asked to submit his verbal statement.
Mansoor Ejaz contended that he had some written notes with him, however, if there were still objections over these notes, he was willing to submit his on-spot written statement.
Hussain Haqqani’s counsel again interjected with fresh spate of objections, over which he was severely reprimanded by Justice Qazi Fayez for interfering in court proceedings. Online
