Bomb blast outside ANP rally in Nowshehra claims seven lives

At least seven persons were killed and 25 others including nine police personnel were injured in the result of the remote controlled bomb blat outside the ANP rally in Nowsehra here on Monday.

The bomb blast occulted at the Malakand Line Chowk on GT Road moments after the Chief Minister Khayber Pakhtoonkhawa Amir Haider Hoti and other members of the provincial cabinet had left the scene on helicopter.
The injured has been shifted in the District Hospital Nowshehra, CMH Nowshehra; meanwhile the condition of the eight injured persons is critical and later on the critically injured persons were shifted in LRH hospital Peshawar.
The people who were killed and injured are the workers of the ANP; meanwhile the attackers were managed to take the motorcycle on the police check post by taking benefit of the leniency in the security arrangements as the security was removed after the exit of chief minister and cabinet members from the public meeting place.
According to the bomb disposal squad three to four kilogram explosive material was used in the bomb blast.
The incident scene was washed out without collecting the evidences; meanwhile the bomb blast was carried out through remote controlled device which was planted in the motorcycle.
On the other hand talking to a private TV channel banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan South Waziristan Spokesman Asim Mehsood has accepted the responsibility of the attack.
Information Minister KPK Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the coward acts of terrorists would not threaten the ANP leaders and workers, adding that we would continue fighting the menace of terrorism.
Senator Haji Adil said 606 workers of the Awami National Party has been martyred, which include parliamentarians and their children.
He said that if the political parties not hold political gatherings than the media criticizes the parties that these parties are not holding gathering due to the fear of terrorists.
Senior Provincial Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour said that the ANP would continue rallies and public meetings and would not scared from the terrorists, adding that the incident could not be termed as the security lapse because hundreds and thousands of people were present in the gathering.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the bomb blast outside the ANP rally in Nowshehra that killed several people and injured many others.
The president in a message said the government was determined to eradicate extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and would not be deterred by such attacks on innocent civilians.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also strongly condemned the incident and directed the concerned authorities to ensure best medical treatment for the injured people. Meanwhile PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mina Shahbaz Sharif, Syed Munawar Hassan, Rehman Malik, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Altaf Hussain, Imran Khan and others have condemned the blast and extended their condolences with the heirs of the diseased and injured persons.
