Chief Justice of Pakistan has said that prosecution department will have to cooperate for quick hearing of terrorism cases.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was addressing to a meeting
held to discuss pending cases in courts in Supreme Court’s Karachi
Registry. The Chief Justice said that better results cannot be produced
without the cooperation of prosecution.
He said that more than 1000 cases are pending in different courts
which are regrettable. Inspector General of Police Sindh,in the meeting,
presented report regarding cases. Strict security measures were taken
for the meeting.
According to media reports Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar
Mohammad Chaudhry arrived in Karachi to chair a high level meeting that
reviewed the steps taken to improve the security situation of the city.
The meeting was attended by SHC chief justice, DG Rangers, IG Sindh, home secretary and other key officials. SANA
