ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National
Security (PCNS), Raza Rabbani said the committee has asked for the
statements of Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Director General
of ISI Ahmad Shua Pasha and others from the Supreme Court.
The PCNS met here with its Chairman Raza Rabbani in chair discussed the memogate scandal.
Foreign Office officials presented a copy of Hussain Haqqani’s resignation and other important documents to the committee.
Secretaries
of Foreign and Defence Ministries appeared before the committee and
assured their complete cooperation to probe the secret memo.
Meanwhile,
PML-N and Aftab Sherpao opposed the committee’s powers on memo issue.
Foreign Secretary told the committee that Foreign Office had no record
of memo issue.
Rabbani while speaking to the media said the PML-N requested not to participate in the meeting but their request was denied.
Rabbani added that the committee would continue its investigation even after the Supreme Court ruling on the memo issue. Online
