KARACHI : In yet another violent day in the metropolis, twelve persons were killed on Friday in different firing incidents, police said. According to details, Anwar Hussain 25 s/o Ameer Niaz was killed in Landhi near Mohammaden Ground whenunknown armed men opened fire on him. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for postmortem.Later, it was handed over to the heirs.
No case could be registered till filing this report. In another incident, the bullet-riddled body of a young man, identified as Adnan, 25, was found near Azizabad Bridge in the limits of Azizabad police station. The deceased was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities. The victim was the resident of same area and got married some eight months ago. A man, identified as Nazar Muhammad, 38 son of Jan Mohammad, was killed by firing in the limits of Federal B Industrial Area Police Station. According to the assessment of police, the victim was sitting in his shop near Sohrab Goth Flyover when unidentified armed men riding a bike opened indiscriminate firing on him and fled. As a result hereceived bullet injuries and died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for postmortem. The victim was the resident of R-16 Al-Asif Square area of Sohrab Goth.The police registered an FIR number 53/2011 against unidentified armed men.Separately, one Siddique, 20, s/o Usman was killed when unidentified armed men entered his house near Ghafoori Chowk in Mawach Goth area and opened indiscriminate fire on him. He died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities and later handedover to heirs.A duty officer at Maripur police station ASI Saeed said that the motive behind the incident seemed to be personal enmity. The police registered FIR number 111/2011 against unidentified attackers on the complaint of family.Separately, the bullet-riddled body of a young bike mechanic bearing torture marks was found near Noorani Bus Stand in the limits of Napier Police Station.Police said that Mohammad Irfan alias Bholo son of Ramzan was shot dead before being kidnapped. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to heirs. A duty officer at Napier police station said that the victim was a bike= mechanic and he used to run amechanic shop in Bheem Pura. He said that Mohammad Irfan had gone on Thursday night as he did not return home after work. The victim was resident of Soldier Bazar area. In another incident of firing, a man was killed by firing in Korangi 2-1/2 area, police said. Police said that Imran, 25 son of Ramzan was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Korangi Link Road. The victim originally hailed from Okara area and used to work in a garments factory.Similarly two men were shot dead in different incident of firing in the limits of Sachal Goth police station. A man identified as Fazal-e-Haq, 22 son of Mohammad Shoaib was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Sachal Area, police said. The victim was resident of New Chali Area of Quaidabad. No case could be registered as the heirs refused to carry out any medico-legal formalities, police said.Bullet-riddled body of a man was found near Post Office in Gulzar-e-Hijri area. It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities. A duty officer at Sachal Police Station ASI Aftab said that the identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet. Later, the body was moved to Edhi Morgue.Separately, a man was killed by firing in Orangi Town in the limits of Iqbal Marker Police Station in the wee hours of Friday.Police said that unidentified armed men fired multiple shots on Aleem Shah, son of Wazeer Khan in Orangi Town Sector 11.5. As a result he died on the spot.

He was resident ofToori Bungash Area of Orangi Town.Separately, an activist of Muttahidda Qumi Movement (MQM) who was shot injured by firing on 21 March in armed attacked succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.The victim Kamran Shams son of Shamsul Haq was the activist of MQM Unit 118 of Ornagi Town, police said. In another incident an activist of Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) Amir Khan Group was killed near Jauhar Morr in the limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station, police and party sources said.Police said that Sabeeh Khan, son of Azam Khan was riding his car bearing registration number Z-29568 when unidentified armed men riding a bike opened indiscriminate fire on him near Jauhar Morr and fled.As a result he received bullet injuries and died on the spot.The victim was resident of Malir Cantt area and was the nephew of MQM-H chairman Amir Khan. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities.
