Pakistan People’s Party Senator Mian Raza Rabbani has written an open letter to the people of Pakistan to seek out the solution of the current problems facing by the country and has tried to unite the people. Rabbani read this letter in Senate on Tuesday.
Raza Rabbani said a long discussion has begun regarding country’s internal and foreign situation. Various parties and party leaders have staged sit-ins but unless a national strategy is developed it would be difficult to meet the challenge of growing terrorism in the country, he said.
He said I have laid out a roadmap about what steps could be taken in current situation to solve the problems we are facing and a national discussion should be held on these steps.
JUI-F Senator Azam Swati appreciated the Raza Rabbani saying that it is not only Rabbani voice instead it is the voice of the whole House.
PPP Senator Lashkari Raesani said doctors who held the post mortem of the killed Chechen nationals were tortured. Such steps are taken to circumvent the inquiry commission. All those who tortured the doctors conducting the autopsy of the killed foreigners should face legal action, he demanded.
Speaking on point of objection MQM Senator Tahir Mashadi said Karachi is facing massacre but our police looks helpless. Business is being shut down in Karachi; Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik should explain the whole situation himself in the Senate, he demanded. He said he would protest until Malik doesn’t explain the situation himself.
ANP Senator Zahid Khan said Zulfikar Mirza was removed from his post when he tried to capture the killers of the deceased journalist Wali Khan Babar. The names of the persons involved in the killing of the journalist Wali Khan Babar are written in a Karachi magazine, he categorically said. He said the journalist of Daily Ummat has been tried to kidnap. He said the circumstances will get worse if the people involved are not sentenced. He too called on Rehman Malik to explain the whole situation himself by presenting himself in the House.
ANP Senator Haji Ghulam Ali criticized the Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik over his talk to media on Monday calling it inappropriate. If Interior Minister would talk in this manner than what else the Rangers personnel would do other then killings. He said it is the responsibility of the government to stop target killings but isn’t government able to observe target killings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. People are being targeted by following them to their private chambers.
Ghulam Ali asked the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz not to include Supreme Court in every matter. If Nawaz Sharif stands on his statement then all institutions should do their work.
