ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said government will not compromise
on national integrity and defence of the country.
He said this during his meeting with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee
Gen Khalid Shamim Wynne here Monday. They exchanged views on regional security
situation, defence requirements of armed forces, war against terrorism and other
matters.
Sources told Gen Khalid Shamim Wynne briefed the president about his meetings
with US military authorities and stance of country’s military leadership.
President Zardari underlined government would not compromise on national
integrity and defence of the country. Sacrifices rendered by armed forces were
far more than any one else and their defence requirements would be met , he
