1.5 mn narcotic tablets seized in Dubai

Dubai  : A huge consignment of narcotics - 1.5 million tablets of a restricted medicine - has been seized by the customs department at the Dubai International Airport, officials said.

A senior manager of air cargo operations at the airport said they found 35 cartons weighing a total of 863 kg coming from an unnamed Asian country. On inspection, they found 1.5 million tablets inside.
Officials at the ministry of health said the drug is listed under controlled medicine category and is not allowed to be taken by people unless authorised through a medical prescription and in small amounts only.IANS
