Heavy rain in various parts of Punjab, Khayber Pakhtonkhawa
and federal capital has severely disturbed the routine life; meanwhile
four persons including three women were killed and 11 others injured in
roof collapse incidents in various parts of rain hit areas.
Rainwater entered Parliament House as heavy monsoon showers
constantly pour in Islamabad on Monday ; meanwhile the National
Assembly which resumed its session was adjourned till today (Tuesday)
afternoon at 1:00 due to heavy rains in the capital which blocked the
way to the Parliament House making it impossible for most of the
members to attend the session.
At least two persons were killed and seven injured when rooftop of a
house caved in during rainfall at Baghbanpura area of Lahore.
The rainfall started at Sehri time in Lahore on Monday causing
collapse of the rooftop of a dilapidated house in Baghbanpura resulting
in death of two women and seven other members of a family.
The rescuers retrieved dead bodies of Irum 15, and Bakhtawar 20 from
the debris. Seven persons received minor injuries and were discharged
from Shalimar hospital after medical aid.
Rains in Punjab have decreased suffocation and lowered the
temperature while water was deluged in many areas of Lahore including
Nisbat Road, Bhati Chowk, Lakshmi Chowk, Davis Road and Islam pura,
causing severe problems to the commuters.
In another incident in Sialkot, two siblings were killed in roof collapse of their house.
According to the report, scattered thunderstorm and rain hit Multan, Sialkot, Sheikhopura, Duniyapur and Gujranwala.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Lahore 122 milimeter, Kakul of about 68 mm while, 31 mm rainfall was recorded in Gujranwala; meanwhile over 100mm rain was recorded in Islamabad.

Under the influence of this weather system, more widespread rains
and thundershowers are expected in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh,
northeast Balochistan and Kashmir. Heavy falls may cause flood in these
areas.
Seeing no break in the ongoing heavy rain showers in the twin
cities, authorities have put all rescue agencies on high alert to
control all types of emergency situations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The parliament’s standing committees’ meetings scheduled to be held
on Monday were put off due to oozing of water from the parliament house
rooftop, sources said.
Water has accumulated across the city and even the Parliament and Supreme Court are affected due to the rains.
Peshawar also received heavy rains and water accumulated in some
areas. The rain has broken the intensity of hot weather. According to
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) the recent rain spell will
continue for the next 48 hours.

Five vehicles were collided at GT road near Tarnol, which caused
injury to many persons; meanwhile the rain water entered in Poly Clinic
hospital and outdoor service was suspended due to the entering of
rainwater in emergency and other wards.
According to the Director Meteorological Department Muhammad Hanif
the new wave of monsoon would continue for a week in the country and
most parts of the country would receive heavy rains during this period. SANA
