NHA projects will be completed timely: Arbab

KARACHI: Minister for communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has said all ongoing NHA construction projects in Karachi and Sind will be completed in time.

He held out the assurance to senate standing committee on communication. He told the committee that the delay in some of the projects have been due to recent devastating floods in the country and shortage of funds, however, the Government is now bringing all its resources into the use to timely accomplish all these projects.
Committee met here Thursday chaired by the Chairman of the Committee Senator Wali Muhammad Badeni. It was also attended by Members of the committee Senator Humayoun Mandoo Khel, Senator Naeem Chattha, Senator Muhammad Ismail Baledi, Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan and others.
Member Construction NHA Aurangzeb Khan gave an introductory briefing to the participants on all ongoing projects in Sind and Karachi and later on, the GMs gave detailed briefings of their respective projects during which it was told that the Federal Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan has visited Sind and Karachi to monitor progress on every project himself. The said that the Federal Minister had given strict instructions to complete all ongoing projects in accordance with international quality standards and had clarified that no laxity will be tolerated in this regard, therefore, work on all these projects in continuing at full pace and, with the Grace of Allah, all these projects will be completed in March next year.
The Chairman of the Committee Senator Wali Muhammad Badeni and other members urged the NHA officials to complete all these projects in time in broader national interest so that the people could benefit from them. The Committee also clarified that no unnecessary delay will be tolerated in this regard. On this occasion, the Federal Minister Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil said there has been some delay in some of the project only due to recent devastating floods and shortage of funds but now that more funds have been released, there will be no further delay, the Minister assured.
He also said that his recent Sind visit has been a part of the Government’s endeavor to timely complete all these projects and it is also the desire of the President Asif Ali Zardai and the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani that the construction will is completed at the earliest so that the people of Sind could benefit from it and their deprivations are removed. The Committee Chairman and members expressed their satisfaction on the overall progress of projects and expressed the hope that the NHA projects in Sind and Karachi will be completed in time. Online
