RAWALPINDI: PPP leader Babar Awan has said nation has rejected the
elements who are playing politics under the cover of institutions.
He
said this while talking to media men here Saturday after condoling with
PPP former MPA, Ishtiaq Ahmad Mirza over his mother’s death.
What
happened in assembly on Friday had exposed the mentality of PML-N as
their mental level could not go beyond local bodies politics, he
alleged. This was first time that 4th budget was presented by a
government while in the past no government could even present third
budget, he pointed out. No one including chambers and traders raised
any objection against the budget, he held.
Bangle group should
keep it in mind that the incumbent government would complete its
tenure, he maintained. If head of bangle group thinks that this way the
democracy would be wrapped up , then he is mistaken as his desire would
not be materialized.
Chief minister Punjab did not even bother
to supervise the rescue operation in river Indus in connection with DG
Rangers helicopter crash, he said adding chief minister Punjab even did
not come to Punjab Assembly during the last seven months. There was no
finance minister in Punjab then who would present the budget, he
remarked.
Punjab resources were being looted, he said adding
PPP and its coalition partner in Punjab assembly would evolve a joint
strategy on budget, he declared.
Nation knows it well where
Chaudhry Nisar had gone during Pervez Musharraf regime, he stated. Only
Makhdoom Javed Hashmi stood against Pervez Musharraf, he added. Cases
were registered against President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Syed
Yousuf Raza Gilani and others during Musharraf rule, he added.
No one considers bangle group as opposition , he said adding we don’t want to revert to politics of 1980 and 1990 decades.
