Four new judges of the Supreme Court (SC) and Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) and Peshawar High Court took oath on Thursday.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry 
administered oath to the Judges Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Justice 
Aijaz Afza Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Athar Saeed during an 
august ceremony held at the apex court premises; meanwhile the ceremony 
was attended by judges, attorney general of Pakistan, registrar Supreme 
Court and senior lawyers.
Receiving final approval from the President Asif Ali Zardari the 
ministry of law issued notification of the appointment of the new 
judges, while the number of judges in Supreme Court has been completed 
with the oath talking of new judges.
Meantime, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed took oath as Lahore High Court’s
 Chief Justice. Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa administered oath to 
him at the Governor House at a ceremony attended by various dignitaries 
including Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
Justice Azmat Saeed is 40th Chief Justice of Lahore High Court and on
 the other hand CM Punjab and Governor Punjab congratulated Justice 
Azmat Saeed over taking charge as Chief Justice Lahore High Court.
Meanwhile Justice Shah Jahan Khan of Peshawar High Court severely 
protesting against the appointment of Justice Dost Muhammad Khan
as Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court and sent his resignation letter to President Asif Ali Zardari by post. SANA
