SC verdict proves militant wings in several political parties: Nawaz Sharif

KARACHI/MULTAN: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has said Supreme Court (SC) verdict has proved militant wings operating in political parties and parliament should ban such parties from taking part in politics.

He said this in his brief chat with media during his stay at Multan airport on his way back from Nawabshah to Lahore on Friday. Syed Ghaus Ali Shah, Rana Sanaullah and Rana Mahmood ul Hassan, MNA were also present on the occasion.
“People of Pakistan particularly Karachi should dissociate them from these parties and think to whom they have to support or otherwise in elections”, he advised. Keeping militant wings by the political parties was not in the national interest, he added.
Government should implement SC decision but such allegation has also come against PPP, he remarked.
Nawaz Sharif said he was not opposed to new provinces but carving out provinces on ethnic basis was not in the national interest. “We should formulate small units on the basis of administrative requirements”, he held.
Replying to a question he said Punjab government had made major financial contribution for the uplift of South Punjab. 12 percent quota had been given to South Punjab in Yellow Cab Scheme.
Addressing a public meeting earlier in Tandoadam Nawaz Sharif said he would fight for the rights of people of Sindh in upcoming general elections. “I have come here to ensure protection of rights of people of Sindh. 20 trucks of relief goods are coming from Punjab to Sindh for flood affectees daily. Posts are being sold out in Sindh and one post is sold at Rs 500,000, he charged.
The fate of people of Sindh has not been changed since the creation of Pakistan and only the life style of a few people has been changed, he maintained. PML-N would change the destiny of people of Sindh, he asserted.
It was job of government to employ efforts to help flood affectees but any thing like government is not being seen any where in Sindh, he remarked. Online
