Capital Police arrested five students of Shifa International
University for allegedly attacking defence analyst Zahid Hamid during a
debate.
As per details , a discussion on the life and
achievements of Allama Iqbal was held here on Sunday in Sir Syed
Memorial Hall Islamabad , which was organized under the auspices of Dr.
Iqbal Society of North America in which famous defense analyst Zahid
Hamid was invited to deliver the lecture on the subject.
During
the programme a group of medical students created disturbance by
starting shouting against Zahid Hamid because of his revealed
sympathies with Yousaf Kazzab. These students makers were believed to
be affiliated with Khatm-e-Nabowat movement. It is pertinent to mention
here that Yousaf Kazzab was a denier of Khatm-e-Nabowat, who
exaggerated the emotions of Muslims.
Police has informed that
First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under section 188
against the apprehended students. Sources informed that earlier the
students of Shifa International Medical University had submitted an
application on the other day in the Secretariat Police station that
Zahid Hamid should be prevented from taking part in the programme which
was held to pay homage to thinker of Pakistan Allama Iqbal.
Coordinator
of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) at said University Talha Saeed,
a medical student started the campaign against Zahid Hamid, as
according to them Zahid Hamid is following the footsteps of Yousaf
Kazzab. Online
