Taliban declare Pakistan enemy No 1 after killing of Osama: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said Independent Commission will soon be constituted to hold impartial investigation into Abbottabad operation.

Interior Minister said this while talking to media men on the occasion of 2nd one day cricket match between Pakistan and Afghanistan at Pindi Cricket Stadium Friday.
He went on to say terrorism was curbed to considerable extent ahead of launching of operation against Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden but situation changed following the killing of Osama bin Laden. Anti state elements, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and some other outfits got united and announced to take revenge of Osama’s killing besides terming Pakistan as enemy number one.
Pakistan has rendered sacrifices more than any other country in war against terrorism; he said adding blood of martyrs would not be allowed to go waste.
He said that the Prime Minister during his meeting with US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton had conveyed to US leadership reservations of government and people of Pakistan about drone attacks that they should be stopped. PM had truly represented sentiments of people during the meeting, he underlined.
Dialogue process between Pakistan and US would continue, Interior minister said.
To a question he said investigations into attack on PNS Mehran base have been initiated and report in this respect would soon be presented to government.
Sports ministry is playing its due role for restoration of international sports and it is utmost endeavor of the government to provide every possible security to foreign teams, he observed. “We will have to bury the past and move ahead”, he stressed.
Talks are underway for holding cricket series with India, he told. On the other hand India had also shown its willingness for starting hockey series with Pakistan. Online
